JC Colin Project The JC Colin team began meeting in September 2004. Their task was to come up with a proposal within guidelines given them to establish a new Youth and Education Ministry on behalf of our Province based in Wellington, but reaching beyond Wellington. The JC Colin Project is endeavouring to develop a Marist ministry to young people that is organised and self-managed by schools and others, and has outreach to young people on the margins. In order to achieve this they are going to Form a Marist Community for Mission Work toward making the project organised and managed by non-professed Marists Set up and maintain contact with “our” schools Prepare resources for others to use Provide training Organise appropriate events Seek funding help There are four specific Ministry Areas Marist Colleges Network: It is the intention of the JC Colin Project to have a network of Marist Colleges that provides networking and solidarity for Marist colleges and a vehicle for enhancing the Marist charism within the colleges. Young Marists: To further develop MaristYouthLeader and promote Social Justice by way of a national and international outreach. To also establish virtual and real lay communities and groups of young people inspired by Marist ideals and develop further programmes of Youth Development and Leadership. It is their intention that as part of this work they will strongly promote Marist vocations. The Challenge 2000 School: To promote and develop links with Challenge 2000 Organisation concentrating on the Challenge School. General Youth Ministry: To be available, when and where possible, to support ministry to young people in the wider church.
